Class 142
leaving for Leeds
The original attractive station house is still standing at Clapham, though now in private hands. The pleasant village of Clapham is a mile and a half away, but well worth as visit. Ingleborough Hall is the original home of the Farrer family, owners of the Ingleborough Estate with its beautiful grounds and show cave. A path takes walkers past the cave and up to the summit of Ingleborough; a round walk is possible by descending to Bentham station (via Ingleton) or to Horton-in-Ribblesdale (tickets to Clapham can be used for return from Horton and vice versa).

Class 142
leaving for Morecambe
The station is unstaffed, and tickets are purchased on the train. The original stone waiting shelter remains on the Leeds-bound platform, and a new glass shelter has been built on the other platform, funded by North Yorkshire County Council. Access across the lines is by the footbridge only. There is a telephone to Settle Junction signal box for information about train running, and a card phone for other calls. There is plenty of free car parking.
The trackbed of the "Little North Western" line to Ingleton can clearly be seen at the west end of the station, going straight ahead while the present line curves away to the left. Here once was the original "Clapham Junction".
